Morrish Mouse #4
NOK 55.00 Availability: Only 6 left in stock!
Quantity

The Morrish Mouse is the most popular mouse pattern out there and “Mousing” have become a term in fly fishing, this is a highly effective attractor and can be fished during day- and nighttime after predatory trout.

Total length is 85mm (a bit over 3") and is tied on a size 4 hook with an apropiate relation beween gap and length.

Mouse patterns are effective for targeting large trout because of their movement rather than their visual realism. While some patterns include detailed features such as ears, eyes, nose, and whiskers, the essential factor is the swimming action. A properly presented mouse fly rides low in the water and creates a sputtering, struggling motion as it moves through riffles. This action triggers predatory responses from trout.

The Take
Trout strikes on mouse patterns can be highly aggressive. Sometimes the fish attack violently at the surface, while in others, they approach in a calculated manner, creating a V-shaped wave before striking. Despite the intensity of these strikes, hookups are often more successful when the take is subtle.

How To Fish
First, use a solid tippet! 0,30-0,33mm is ok. Fish that take this kind of flies dont care about the tippet! This will help in turing fly over and pulling it loose when you snag it in bushes etc... And of course land your dream trophy!

Mouse patterns are typically fished across the current, keep the rod tip pointed downstream, and let the current swing the fly across. In slower water, a 90-degree cast across-stream is effective, while in faster water, a 45-degree downstream angle prevents the fly from moving unnaturally fast. Mice can swim, but their movement should remain slow and deliberate.
